L'Imprévu Café

7, Rue Quincampoix, 75004 Paris (Map)
Métro: Châtelet

L'Imprévu Café is one of my favorite places in Paris to have a quiet coffee with friends in the afternoon AND to have a couple beers with friends in the evening. Sometimes the former easily blurs right into the latter! Ha. The atmosphere is very laid back and friendly, and the guys who work there are extremely nice. The decor is artsy and informal, and there's a really charming room in the back of the bar with couches, intimate lighting, a mural of a Moroccan night sky, and, for some reason, a real parachute attached to the ceiling! So neat and weird. I could live in this place. The clientele swings very young and student-y and I almost feel too old to be hanging out there sometimes, but I'm so cool it doesn't matter. [Correction: Manning is not, in fact, cool. Cool Stuff in Paris regrets the error.]
